How to add metrics

You can create Metrics in TheyDo from two places: 

1. Add Metrics directly within Journeys: Click on 'Add Metric' next to the Journey title. You can select an existing Metric or create a new one. You can also create a Metrics lane within your Journey to add a Metric to a particular step. Click on the '+ Metric' button in the Metric lane to select an existing Metric or create a new one.

2. Add Metrics within the Metrics Library: Click on the ‘+ Metric’ button in the top right corner of your Metrics Library.

Adding data to your Metric manually

To add data manually to a Metric:

1. Click ‘+ Metric’ from within your Journey or Metrics Library

2. In the Metric side panel, select 'CSV import/manual' as the source.

3. Pick a metric type (NPS, CSAT, CES, or 'other'). You can change the type until you add your first data point.

4. Click ‘Add data points’ at the bottom of the side panel and complete the information in the pop-up. The data you add depends on the metric type you selected.

5. For 'other' Metric types, choose the unit for display on the Metric and its card. Also, select the Formula to determine how the metric is calculated for the chosen time range—either the average or the total (sum).

6. You can add one data point per day. The resolution is set to ‘daily’. You can change this to 'weekly' or 'monthly’.

Adding data to your Metric using a CSV file 

If you have multiple data points for a Metric, you can update those simultaneously via CSV import. 

1. Click ‘+ Metric’ from within your Journey or Metrics Library

2. In the Metric side panel, select 'CSV import/manual' as the source.

3. Pick a metric type (NPS, CSAT, CES, or 'other').

4. Click on ‘Import CSV’ to upload your CSV.

5. Once your file is uploaded, you’ll be prompted to review and fix any formatting errors and make sure that all the data maps correctly before it is added to your Metric. 

6. Finalize the import to add the data to your Metric

Adding data from Qualtrics

Organizations on the Strategic plan can make use of TheyDo’s integration with Qualtrics to sync NPS, CES, and CSAT data directly from your Qualtrics surveys.

1. Click ‘+ Metric’ from within your Journey or Metrics Library

2. Select your source: Qualtrics 

3. Select the Qualtrics survey you'd like to track 

4. From your available survey questions, select the one you'd like to track 

5. Under the description section, you'll be prompted to map your survey responses to the sentiment they represent. This helps TheyDo understand the value of each response and calculate accordingly. Choose the equivalent for each response. 

6. Click ‘Sync data’ to automatically populate your Metric with your Qualtrics data
   

Adding data from BigQuery

Organizations on the Strategic plan can make use of TheyDo’s integration with BigQuery. With the BigQuery integration, your metrics data will always stay fresh, as it pulls in the freshest data directly from your BigQuery warehouse.

1. From your Metrics Library or within the Metrics Lane in any journey, click +Metric

2. Select the source BigQuery

3. Select your Metric type

4. Insert your SQL in the query box. We recommend asking your data analyst for a list of queries depending on your needs

5. Run the query

6. You'll be able to preview the data fetched as a result of your query

7. Click to save your Metric and your data will be synced within seconds

8. We recommend checking the time frame of your data points and adapting the date range to modify your metric graph

How to automate the process of creating Metrics

Creating Metrics individually can be time-consuming. If you have (or anticipate) large amounts of data, you can also automate the process of creating Metrics cards by importing Metrics directly within the Metrics Library. Click on the ‘Import Metrics’ button in the top right corner of your Metrics Library and choose one of the following options: 

1. Create Metrics without data points: Create multiple empty Metric cards that you can add data to and map to your Journeys at a later point in time. Download the example template for information about what to include.

2. Bulk import Metrics of the same type: Upload multiple data points to a singular Metric (e.g. multiple CSATs). Choose the template based on the type of data that you want to add (NPS, CES, CSAT, or Other) and fill in the information. Click ‘Import’ to upload your file. Once your file is uploaded, you’ll be prompted to review and fix any formatting errors.
