Intro to the Journey Management workflow

We’ve designed TheyDo around an innovation workflow based on the Triple Diamond, comprising Problem discovery, Solution discovery, and Solution development. Each phase involves key steps such as customer research, ideation, validation, and implementation, and TheyDo's features align with these processes. While the Triple Diamond may not match every organization's terminology, TheyDo can still support your way of working.

Here’s the workflow in a nutshell:

  1. Problem discovery: TheyDo can help you to easily go from journey to well-defined Opportunity. After identifying or creating the relevant journey(s), you can group the Insights you’ve gathered to define the Opportunities or core problems you want to solve. You can then prioritize Opportunities using the Opportunity matrix, and present those Opportunities to stakeholders within the Journey context or the larger Opportunities library.

  2. Solution discovery: In this phase, you can use TheyDo to find innovative Solutions to your Opportunities. Start by assigning owners to Opportunities for tracking. Then, capture Solution ideas and link them to Opportunities (making sure you set properties like owner and type for each Solution to keep overview). Prioritize and track your Solutions using Desirability, Feasibility, and Viability ratings.

  3. Solution development: This last phase is about shipping Solutions to the customer, in a way that keeps everyone aligned. Whereas tracking is typically a tedious process (meetings and multiple systems), TheyDo solves this by linking the design and development efforts back to the Solution, the Opportunity, and the Journeys they impact. This is done by integrating with product management tools like Jira or Azure DevOps, and creating and/or linking epics and stories directly from Solutions.
