Pushing solutions to Jira or Azure DevOps

If you enable our integration with Jira or Azure DevOps, you’ll be able to synchronize your Solutions to your backlog, and the other way around. Reach out to your CSM to enable it.

Push solutions as new items

Create new items in Jira and/or Azure DevOps directly from TheyDo.

  • Open the desired Solution and click on ‘Link to Azure DevOps’ or ‘Link to Jira’.

  • Choose the project and issue type, and preview the work item.

  • Press ‘push’ to create the work item with the Solution's title and description.

Link Solutions to existing items

Associate Solutions with pre-existing work items in Jira and/or Azure DevOps.

  • Click on ‘Link to Azure DevOps’ or ‘Link to Jira’ and go to the ‘Link to existing’ tab.

  • Search for the desired work item (title or number) and select it.

  • Choose how you want the Solution to be linked (there are several options, depending on the leading source you select as well as if you have 2-way sync enabled or disabled).

  • Press ‘push’ to establish the link.

Manage 2-way sync settings

Organizational admins can manage 2-way sync settings in the integrations section of the settings menu by clicking ‘Enable’ or ‘Disable’.

For organizations with 2-way sync disabled: Status is pulled from Azure and synced to (mapped) status in TheyDo, while title and description syncing is optional.

For organizations with 2-way sync enabled: Status, title, and description are continuously synchronized between both systems.
